Hipstamatic - In comparison

I have as I said yesterday, gotten my brand new iPhone 4 last week. I am very happy with the phone, especially the camera which is so much better than the previous versions. I am going to test this more closely, but I have already started to revisit some of previous motifs to have something to compare with.

Here is one of them, I have earlier labelled them Black Torso, and Black Torso revisited. Both are shot with apx the same light conditions (partly cloudy), and with the John S Lens/BlacKeys B+W Film. The top one is shot with my 9 months old iPhone 3GS, and the bottom one with my new iPhone 4.

What I can tell from this little test, is that the old version is more dirty, and gives off a more despaired feeling. The hard vignetting adds to this. First time I saw this, I was thinking about innocent people being stoned/beaten to death around the world.

The newest version is noticeably lighter and sharper. It is more true to the actual colors, but I think I prefer the old one. This mainly because of the darker mood, but also because I have a better cropping. The old one includes more ground and surrounding, which gives the picture more I think.

That said, I am very happy with both shots, and rest assured that I will visit this again. :)
