It has been a long time since my last post. I am sorry for this, but there has been some other things that have occupied my mind for the last month.
When using the Hipstamatic, you sometimes get a "lucky shot". This may be purely by accident, or I am looking for a special effect of some sort. It is always fun to see what the iPhone is able to record.
Sometimes I don't see the effect until I am at home on a bigger and better screen than the iPod. This is the case in this print. I was trying to take pictures of huge water drops dripping from snow melting on a railroad bridge.
When I came home I was excited to see that I actually have caught a drop as it was exploding on the ground. This kind of photography is normally only achieved with high speed cameras, or with flashes in a studio. It may be hard to discover, but is in the lower 1/3 of the print, where the shadow from the light post crosses the ground.
The details are amazing in this print on my screen. John S Lens and Blanko Negro Film.
