Oslo by fog…

In the breaking point between winter and early spring, we get a lot of fog in Oslo. Last week I was walking in the city, and here are some prints.

Drive-by shooting…

I was traveling with a bus last wednesday. I did some shooting through the bus window. This was fun, because its impossible to tell which effects or object you will get in the final print.

Here are my favorites. The ones over the bridge are very dramatic and visually strong I think.

All prints are the John S Lens and the BlacKeys B+W Film.

Trains and the writing on the wall…

On friday I had to run some errands just outside Oslo. And Then I took the commuter train. I did some trainspotting while I was waiting. There is something fascinating about these monsters on tracks…

The writing on the wall in the title is actually the writing on the streets. The main avenue in Oslo, which is called Karl Johans Gate (street), are named after the king on the statue shown below. On the pavement there are lines of text from famous norwegian authors. Both engraved in the concrete, and stainless steel inlaid letters.

On my way home I passed the barcode building project. And it was actually raining on the other side of the building. Not my side though…

All prints are my favorite John S Lens and Blackeys B+W Film.

Statues and the sun…

In my many walks in the city of Oslo, I am constantly looking for new objects to shoot. As in many cities around the world, Oslo has a lot of statues. The first print is how it looks normally.

I found this boring, and decided to try another approach. It was a bright sunny day, so I decided to use the sun as a creative effect.

Here is the result, All prints are the John S Lens and BlacKeys B+W Film.

Raging river, mudslide, and a s**t

Today I walked along Oslo´s biggest river. Because of record breaking rain, it is getting very big, and flooding the banks. The forecast is even more rain to come, and then it will start flooding buildings walkways and bridges along the river.

It already started when I was walking today. When I  tried to get close to the river to get a better shot, I slipped on the mud, and slided down the bank. Luckily it was a fence there. Not so luckily it also was not only mud. Some dog s**t also graced the backside of my pants.

So, I can tell you this, it was a sight to see me washing by the river. I got the s**t washed off, but I walked for almost 4 miles covered in mud… Life is sweet… The ducks were happy though…

Bubbles, rainbows and pretty girls…

Yesterday I was out for another walk. It started very rainy, and ended with the sun from a blue sky…

As I came into the city, I saw some children playing with a bubble-maker. These bubbles get enormous, and tends to explode in your face if you are in their way. I especially like print number 6, where I have bubbles, pretty girls and a flying dove, all in the same frame.
