First Snow…

Yesterday we got our first snow this winter. Normally it starts in october/november, but this year its late in the coming. And it has snowed 5.5 inches in just a few hours now…

All prints are the John S Lens, combined with the AO DLX Film, and the Blanko Noir film.

Ghost house revisited…

This week I revisited the ghost house in the woods.

The first print is The AO DLX Film, together with the Luca AB2 Lens. This lens is a new experience for me. I love the vignette effect it creates. It really adds to the moody look, and it reminds me of a print from a pinhole camera (which I am currently building).

All the other prints are the John S Lens. Prints # 3 and 6 are the BlacKeys B+W, the rest are the AO DLX Film.

Hipstafashion, the wet version…

I work as an professional photographer. Wether its a wedding, fashion or portraits, my Hipstamatic is always on my hip. And I always try to do some prints.

Saturday I did a fashion shoot by and in a river in Oslo. And of course I had to do some Hipstashooting as well. Some of the prints are a little fuzzy, but this doesn't bother me at all. It only adds to the effect and feel of the print. And yes, the photographer was more than knee deep in the river two.

The most annoying fact?  The way the BlacKeys B+W Film darkens the edges (vignette), and the de-saturates the colors are beautiful. Some of the prints actually look better than the ones shot with my Canon. Straight out of the camera that is. :) After a little visit in Photoshop, the Canon files are better, commercially speaking.

Shot with Canon EOS 5D mkII/Canon EF 85/1.2

This way, rivets and steel…

On my friday walk, I was looking for details. This can be found in rocks, walls, concrete, pavements. To keep it short, all over…

I am getting quite used to the frame on the Hipstamatic now. I always shoot with the precision framing option, because this gives me better control over the cropping. For newbees, this option is found in settings on the iPhone. the path is: Settings/Hipstamatic/Viewfinder Mode/Precision Framing.

I seldom shoot more than one or two times now for each object. As for the car underneath, its a one shot. I have almost 15000 prints with Hipstamatic now, so this has given me the experience needed. But I usually do two shots when I am this close to the object.

There is one more important detail, which is often forgotten. I have done this hundreds of times myself. Let the camera on the iPhone finish the zooming. If you shoot from the hip, you often get blurry pictures. Sometimes this is fun, but most of the times, just annoying.

The details which is shown in the prints, often amazes me. If you look at the steel rivets, bolts and spikes below, the details are beautiful.

I have a passion for building sites, that is true. So this is often seen in my prints.

In the corner of my eye, I spotted the little graffiti on the wall. Someone had sprayed La Linea on a red brick wall. I love these small details.

Trains and the writing on the wall…

On friday I had to run some errands just outside Oslo. And Then I took the commuter train. I did some trainspotting while I was waiting. There is something fascinating about these monsters on tracks…

The writing on the wall in the title is actually the writing on the streets. The main avenue in Oslo, which is called Karl Johans Gate (street), are named after the king on the statue shown below. On the pavement there are lines of text from famous norwegian authors. Both engraved in the concrete, and stainless steel inlaid letters.

On my way home I passed the barcode building project. And it was actually raining on the other side of the building. Not my side though…

All prints are my favorite John S Lens and Blackeys B+W Film.

Statues and the sun…

In my many walks in the city of Oslo, I am constantly looking for new objects to shoot. As in many cities around the world, Oslo has a lot of statues. The first print is how it looks normally.

I found this boring, and decided to try another approach. It was a bright sunny day, so I decided to use the sun as a creative effect.

Here is the result, All prints are the John S Lens and BlacKeys B+W Film.
